Meet the author
Since childhood, Hillary Cox loved telling stories. One of her favorite pastimes was drawing cartoons and making stop motion animation with her family’s video camera. She also found a deep passion for reading, the books of her youth becoming her dearest friends.
Hillary studied Creative Writing at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts and hoped to becoming a successful novelist. Upon graduation, however, she realized that to write great stories, one must have a multitude of life experiences. So, Hillary allowed herself to be swept up by the unexpected journeys her life took her on for many years.
Now, she is settled in central Missouri with her husband and two boys where their regular activities include walks in the woods, feeding birds, building odd structures, reading, drawing and having other adventures.
Hillary has written and illustrated the children’s book A Friend for Lunch and has more in progress. Nothing brings her more joy that watching people enjoy the stories she brings to life on the page.
